Recently, a delegation from the School of Architecture at Chengdu College of Arts and Sciences visited MWLA to exchange ideas on design education, professional practice, and future collaboration between academia and industry.

During the visit, the delegation toured the studio and reviewed a selection of MWLA's recent work, gaining insight into the practice's approach to residential landscapes, public spaces, and urban regeneration, as well as its ongoing research, international engagement, and design exploration.

The discussion focused on the changing demands of contemporary design practice, covering topics including studio-based learning, collaborative teaching, graduation projects, workshops, and digital design. MWLA also shared its experience in interdisciplinary collaboration, project-based practice, and the integration of AI-assisted design into the creative process.

During the visit, MWLA was designated as an Internship and Practice Base by the School of Architecture. The studio looks forward to continuing its collaboration with the university by creating more opportunities for students to engage with real projects and gain first-hand experience of professional practice.

At MWLA, we believe that meaningful design education is rooted in real-world practice. Through lectures, workshops, graduation reviews, and ongoing collaboration with universities, we hope to strengthen the connection between academia and the profession, while encouraging young designers to develop their own perspectives through direct engagement with practice.
